Victorian 14kt Diamond & Seed Pearl Butterfly Pendant
A lovely seed pearl and diamond butterfly pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderfully feminine piece depicts and open winged butterfly which is covered in natural seed pearls. With a 3-dimensional look, the butterfly has wide spread wings, 2 gold antennae and 2 pink tourmaline cabochons as eyes. All of the pearls range slightly in size and are bead set in a closed back yellow gold setting. Resting in the center of the body is a single old Mine Cut diamond stone (.04ct) that is set slightly higher above the body in a buttercup setting. The butterfly pendant hangs from a modern gold chain that has a short extension that is cinched at another, slightly larger diamond stone. The approximate weight of this stone is .06ct and it is also set in a buttercup setting. It's a simply exceptional necklace and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurement: The butterfly pendant measures a little more than 1 1/2" wide, is 1" tall and has a depth of 3/8". The overall length of the chain is 16" with a 7/8" extension.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant and chain is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold setting or chain and all of the seed pearls, diamonds and tourmalines are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
