Victorian Sterling & Natural Coral Festoon Necklace

An absolutely stunning sterling and coral necklace from the Victorian (1880) era! This lovely and feminine piece is set in sterling silver and comprised of over a 100 hand carved natural coral beads. At the center of the necklace are 45 festoon style links that graduate in length with the longest resting in the center. While each link grows in length, it also increases in the number of beads which hang from it. The coral beads are connected to each other by small sterling links and separated by spring like silver links. The vertically hanging festoon links hang from a simple sterling chain which clasps in the back. Coral bead line each side of the chain and attach to each other with sterling links which are riveted through the center. The coral, which is natural, has a vibrant yet soft orange color which is simply marvelous. It has a dramatic design that rests perfectly on ones neck. It would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!

Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 16" in length. The festoon style links graduate in length from 3/8" being the shortest and 1 1/2" being the longest, center link. The coral beads vary slightly in size with 2.5mm being the smallest to 3.5mm being the largest.

Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. There is no apparent damage to any of the coral beads or to the sterling setting or chain. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
