Victorian Sterling Scottish Agate Bracelet w/Padlock
A stunning Scottish agate bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The piece, which is made with sterling silver, is comprised of 6 agate links with an agate padlock clasp in the center. The agate, which is carnelian, banded and moss agate, has beautiful hues of orange, white, black and brown. Each of the barrel links is capped at both ends in etched sterling silver and connects to the next by a singl "o" ring. The clasp is a padlock style, which opens and can be easily taken off. It secures the hook-and-eye style closure and is inlaid with a piece of agate stone. The other side of the padlock is smooth sterling, with a cabochon agate stone bezel set in its center. It is very unusual and fantastic Scottish agate piece that would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The bracelet measures approximately 8" long. Each agate link measures 1" long and has a diameter of 1/2". The padlock clasp measures a little more than 1 1/4" tall, slightly less than 3/4" wide and a little less than 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the agate and the hook clasp is in good working condition. The padlock clasp closes securely and is also in good working condition.
