Art Deco Platinum No Heat Sapphire & French Cut Diamond Ring 4.15ct
An exquisite sapphire ring from the Art Deco (ca1930s) era! Made of platinum, the ring holds a stunning natural sapphire at the center, framed by sparkling diamonds at either shoulder. The Ceylon (Sri Lankan) sapphire weighs approximately 4.15ct, and is beautifully faceted into an oval shape. It exhibits a luscious cornflower blue color, which is natural and displays no indications of heat treatment. Decorating the petal-shaped prongs are four marquise diamonds, weighing approximately .40ctw. Lining the sides of the band are six French cut diamonds, which weigh approximately .30ctw combined. All of the diamonds are in the near colorless range, and rest in channel and bezel settings. A fine filigree wirework design is visible below the centerpiece, and a smooth platinum band completes the design. Accompanying the ring is a Sapphire Origin Report issued in August 2017 by GIA (Gemological Institute of America), which describes the ring and confirms the sapphire's stated characteristics. A spectacular vintage ring, it would look exquisite worn on special occasions, or could make an extraordinary gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 5.5, but could easily be resized up or down if desired. The sapphire rests approximately 1/4" above the finger when worn. Its dimensions are as follows: 11.45 x 8.81 x 5.36 mm. The platinum band measures 2mm wide at the back. The total weight of the ring is 5.41 grams.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. The sapphire stone and all of the accent diamonds are intact and securely set.
