Art Deco Silver Hematite & French Paste Teardrop Earrings
A wonderful pair of hematite teardrop earrings from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Each earring is crafted in 800 purity silver, and has an elegant hanging design. A hematite link dangles freely from the base, which forms an elongated teardrop shape with faceted edges. A delicate French paste stone is bezel set above the silver frame, adding a lovely sparkle. The hematite displays a rich, deep charcoal grey color with a highly polished metallic finish. An additional hematite stone rests at the top, forming a complimentary surmount. A secure earring wire and hinged lever back completes the design, stamped "800/1000" on one side, and "A&P" on the other. A very unusual pair of vintage earrings, they frame the face beautifully and have lovely movement when worn!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 2 1/2" long, including the wire tops. The long hematite teardrop links measure 1 3/4" long, 3/8" wide, and 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting. The faceted hematite links and French paste stones are intact and free of chips or scratches. The earring wires and lever backs are secure and in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver setting, which is normal for antique jewelry and adds to its unique beauty.
