Arts & Crafts Sterling/14kt Moonstone Emerald Cluster Ring
A very unusual ring from the Arts & Crafts era (ca1910)! Crafted in sterling silver, the ring has a decorative design that frames a moonstone cabochon at the center. The moonstone cabochon rests in a closed foil back bezel settning, displaying a pale blue color and alluring iridescent flash. Surrounding the stone are eight vivid green emeralds, which alternate with delicate bead and wirework accents. The square-cut emeralds are each individually bezel set, adding a wonderful pop of vibrant color! Completing the design are applied 14kt yellow gold wirework accents along the band and border, creating a subtle mixed metals effect. is a simple band in the back, with an etched orange blossom motif at either shoulder. Perfect for the vintage jewelry lover, this unique ring would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6, but could possibly be resized slightly. The moonstone and emerald centerpiece measures 7/8" tall, 5/8" wide, and rests 3/8" high. The band measures 2mm wide.
Condition: The ring is in excellent vintage condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or applied gold accents. The moonstone and emeralds are intact and securely set. The surface of the setting has a natural untouched patina that gives a darkened appearance to the silver. This is not uncommon for vintage jewelry, and adds to its unique appearance.
