Edwardian 15kt/9kt Green Doublet Drop Earrings
A beautiful and vibrant pair of drop earrings from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! English in origin, each earring holds two vivid green doublets within a bright yellow gold setting. The round doublets at the base hang from thin gold bars, and swing from cushion shaped doublet surmounts at the top. Each doublet boasts a spectacular emerald green color and is beautifully faceted. The original screw backs rest on the back of each topper, allowing them to be worn on pierced or unpierced ears. The screw back toppers are marked "9CT" on the back, and the hanging drops are marked "15CT" at the base. When worn, the earrings add a beautiful pop of color to any ensemble and would look lovely day or night!
Measurements: The earrings hang 1 1/4" long. The round doublets at the base have a 5/16" diameter and measure 3/16" thick. The doublets at the top measure 5/16" tall, and 3/16" wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the doublets, which are intact and securely set. The screw backs remain in good working condition.
