Edwardian French 18kt/Platinum Mother of Pearl & Diamond 11-Pc. Clover Cufflink Set
An exquisite cufflink set from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This spectacular set is French in origin and is crafted in platinum-topped 18kt gold. The set comes in the original box and includes a pair of double-sided cufflinks, 6 buttons with pins, two small cuffs, and a gold stud. Each detailed piece has a matching design that combines a shimmery Mother of Pearl background with a sparkling diamond overlay. The platinum overlay forms the shape of a beautiful 4-leaf clover, which is lined with delicate rose cut diamonds. The button pins are stamped with small French hallmarks, and the two cuff pieces are also signed with appears to be"R. TE SGOG" and "R.I." All of the cufflink pieces fit perfectly into their individual spaces within the original box, which has a removable velvet pad that reveals a hidden space underneath where the removable gold button pins are stored. A wonderful turn-of-the-century cufflink set, the enchanting design has all of the elegant hallmarks of the Edwardian era in a timeless and breathtaking design. The set would look incredible worn by a distinguished gentleman on special occasions, and is perfect for the antique collector!
Measurements: The face of each cufflink has a 1/2" diameter, with the exception of the two smaller cuffs measuring 3/8" in diameter. The gold button pins measure 7/8" long, and the strands of gold chain separating cufflinks measure 3/4" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflink set is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum-topped gold setting or to the mother of pearl background. All of the rose cut diamonds are intact and securely set. Each cufflink piece and button back remains intact to the set and is in good working order. The original box shows normal signs of wear commensurate with age, but is in good overall condition, and the snap clasp fastens securely shut.
