Edwardian Platinum Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring 0.83ct
A stunning diamond engagement ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This beautiful ring is crafted in platinum, framing an old European Cut diamond at the center. The stone is held in a 6-prong setting, weighing .83ct with I color and SI2 clarity. Elegant hand-engraved detail travels gracefully along the sides of the tapered band, creating a lovely leaf-like motif. The ring was appraised by an independent and accredited GIA-certified Graduate Gemologist in June 2017, and has a stated retail replacement value of $4,300.00. A classically beautiful design, it would make a perfect vintage engagement ring for someone special!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 5.75, but could be easily resized. The diamond rests approximately 1/4" above the finger when worn. The tapered band measures 1mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting or to the diamond, which is intact and securely set. The engraved motif has some light wear at the very back of the band, where a previous sizing may have occurred. This is not visible when the ring is worn, and does not detract from the beauty of the design.
