J.E. CALDWELL Art Deco Platinum Diamond Engagement Ring .35ct
This gorgeous diamond engagement ring by J.E. Caldwell & Co. is from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! The platinum ring holds a beautiful old European Cut diamond at the center, which rests in a curved 4-prong setting. The center stone weighs approximately .35ct and has F color and VS2 clarity. Two old European cut diamonds decorate the the shoulders of the ring, which weigh approximately 0.05ctw combined, with H-I range color and SI range clarity. A detailed filigree motif covers the sides and shoulders of the ring, complete with fine filigree wirework, delicate milgrain detail, shapely cutouts, and hand engraved accents. The shank is stamped "10% IRID. PLAT" and "PAT. APPD" inside, and is marked with the signature "JEC CO". The ring was appraised by an independent and accredited GIA-certified gemologist in August 2016 and has a stated retail replacement value of $4,500.00. Measurements: The ring has a finger size of a scant 6.75, but could be re-sized up or down. The diamond centerpiece rests approximately 1/4" above the finger when worn.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting, and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set.
