Late Victorian 14kt Diamond + Mermaid Cigar Band Ring
A fabulous cigar band ring from the late Victorian (ca1900) era! This wide 14kt gold ring features a raised image of a gorgeous mermaid whose body reaches diagonally across the front. Incredible etched detail decorates the mermaid, including flowing hair, a relaxed facial expression, abdominal muscles and a scaly appearance on her tail. A gorgeous 0.20ct old Mine Cut diamond rests in a bezel-setting at the crest of her curved tail, sparkling radiantly as it catches the light. Horizontal etching graces the background of the centerpiece, providing wonderful texture to the piece. Finishing the design is a smoothly polished band that graduates slightly towards the back and stamped inside the shank is "14K." A beautiful and unique ring for mermaid enthusiasts, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 8.25 but could be easily resized. The mermaid centerpiece measures approximately 3/4" tall and about 5/8" wide and rests approximately 1/8" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 3mm at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the diamond is intact and securely set.
