TIFFANY & CO. Sterling Silver Cherub Dish
This decorative cherub dish from the Edwardian era (ca1910) is a signed piece by Tiffany & Co.! Made of sterling silver, this gorgeous dish is round in shape with a smooth, flared base. A charming cherub figurine serves as the handle, represented with realistic 3-dimensional detail. The angelic figure stands on one foot, holding a a band of wrapped fabric in both hands. Its sweet face, wavy locks of hair, and feathered wings bring the serene image to life! Below the handle is a grooved center, allowing space to display trinkets, rings, or sweets. On the underside of the dish are several hallmarks, including: "TIFFANY & CO. MAKERS STERLING" and the serial number "38808." The dish has a wonderful turn-of-the-century aesthetic, and the cherub motif is simply stunning. Measurements: The dish has a 3 1/4" diameter, and measures 2 3/4" high from the base to the top of the handle. The cherub figurine is 1 7/8" tall and 1 5/8" wide. The flared edge of the dish measures 1/2" high.
Condition: The overall condition of the dish is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or decorative handle.
