Victorian 14kt Garnet Cabochon Festoon Necklace
A beautiful garnet necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely necklace is comprised of cabochon garnet stones, which hang from a 14kt gold chain in a festoon fashion. The graduating stones are smoothly polished, and vary in size and shape, accentuating their natural appearance. The garnets display a deep, rich luscious color, which looks wonderful against the gold setting. At the back of the chain is a gold spring ring clasp, which is stamped with a small hallmark on the catch. When worn, the necklace drapes elegantly along the neckline. Perfect for special occasions, it would make a lovely addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 15.5” long. The festoon links hang at varying lengths, with the longest strand in the center measuring 3/4" long, and the shortest measuring 3/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or garnet stones. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
