Victorian 15kt Gold & Hand Carved Onyx Link Necklace
A wonderful onyx link necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This fantastic piece is comprised of a stylish onyx pendant that has been paired with a complimentary hand carved onyx chain. The striking links have a elongated octagonal shape with faceted sides and edges. The facets in the links catch the light, making the necklace beautiful in motion. A rose gold bead is dotted at the center of each onyx link, complimenting the gold spacer beads throughout the chain. All of the beads are strung on fine gold box chain, meeting at a large rose gold spring ring clasp at the middle. Dangling from the center is a removable pendant comprised of an egg-shaped onyx ball that hangs below an onyx link. A large onyx toggle link swings in the center from a strand of gold chain. A beautiful and bold statement necklace, it has a very strong Victorian look and would make a wonderful addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 18.5" long. Each large faceted onyx link measures 3/4" long, 1/2" wide, and 3/8" thick. The round onyx beads measure 7mm in size, and the gold spacer beads measure 3mm in size. The egg-shaped onyx pendant hangs 1" long and 3/4" wide. The toggle measures 1 1/2" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or to the onyx links and beads. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
