A beautiful horseshoe stick pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The pin is crafted in 18kt yellow gold and features a delicate gemstone horseshoe. Each gemstone represents one of the 7 "nails" on the face of the horseshoe (always 7 for good luck). Lining the front of the horseshoe are 3 sparkling diamonds and 4 luscious sapphires. Attached to the back is a long gold stick pin that has a small swirled section below the horseshoe. The pin is stamped on the outside with an eagle's head and another small hallmark, suggesting that it is of French origin. This feminine piece would look beautiful pinned to a favorite garment and is perfect for any equestrian jewelry collector!
Measurements: The stick pin measures 2 5/8" in total length. The horseshoe at the top measures 1/2" wide and tall, and is 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the sapphires and diamonds are intact. The stick pin is securely attached and in good condition.
