Victorian French 18kt Diamond Snake Ring

A beautiful snake ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful French ring is made of 18kt yellow gold and has a stylish coiled snake design. The body and tail of the snake wrap twice around the finger to form the band, the tip of the tail overlapping in the front. The snake's head holds a sparkling single cut diamond in the center, which has I color, SI1 clarity, and weighs approximately .30ct. Lightly engraved detail represents the snake's eyes and slightly parted mouth. Stamped on the outside of the band is a small French eagle hallmark. A wonderful piece for any snake lover, it would make a fantastic everyday ring!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 6.5, but could possibly be resized slightly. The total pennyweight of the piece is 4.7 dwt.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or diamond, which is intact.
