Victorian Petite 14kt Double-Sided Compass Pendant
A charming compass pendant from the Victorian era (ca1880)! This petite double-sided piece features a working compass set within a 14kt rosy gold bezel setting. The compass face features red and black directional script above a yellow border, with a moving arrow in the center. The reversible design is sandwiched between two clear crystal windows, allowing the light to pass through the center. A thick gold bezel forms the border, displaying a beveled rim with smooth edges. A gold ring bail is attached to the top, perfect for hanging the piece from a favorite chain or charm bracelet. A wonderful Victorian collector's item, this compass would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The compass hangs approximately 1" long (including the bail), and is approximately 3/4" in diameter, and is 3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the ring bail, which is secure. There is some slight wear to the surface of the crystal, which is normal for a piece of this age, and is not noticeable when worn.
