Victorian 18kt/Sterling Ceylon No-Heat Pink Star Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring 5.30ct
A beautiful pink star sapphire ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 18kt gold and sterling silver, this gorgeous ring holds a luscious 5.30ct natural Sri Lankan (Ceylon) pink star sapphire cabochon at the center. When turned in the light, the stone reveals alluring iridescent flashes at the center, forming the rays of star that appear as though lit from within. The iridescent quality is difficult to capture in a photograph, and is less noticeable in the images, making the star's rays the strongest when viewed in person. The sapphire exhibits a nature lavender color with no indications of heat treatment.
Surrounding the center stone is a border of 18 old Mine Cut diamonds. The diamonds sparkle beautifully, resting within a scalloped sterling silver bezel setting. Collectively, the diamonds weigh approximately .55ctw and have H-I range color and SI range clarity. Completing the design is a smooth gold band, which tapers in where it meets the centerpiece. Accompanying the ring is a Sapphire Origin Report issued by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in August 2017, which confirms the sapphire's stated characteristics. The ring was also appraised by an independent and accredited GIA certified Graduate Gemologist in August 2017, and has a stated retail replacement value of $10,000.00. An enchanting ring, it is simply mesmerizing in person, and would look spectacular worn on special occasions!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6, but could be easily resized if desired. The gemstone centerpiece measures approximately 1/2" across, and rests 3/8" high. The gold band measures 2mm wide. The dimensions of the cabochon star sapphire are as follows: 8.91 x 7.85 x 6.77 mm.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling-topped gold setting. The pink star sapphire and diamonds are all intact and securely set.
