Victorian Silver 14kt Rose Cut Diamond Bird Charm
A stunning diamond bird charm from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece is made of silver-topped 14kt yellow gold and portrays a bird in flight, whose entire body is encrusted with sparkling rose cut diamonds. The bird has wonderful character, including a long slender bill, outstretched wings, ruffled tail feathers, and long bent legs tucked underneath its body. The diamonds range in size and are pavé set in an open-backed setting. A single ruby cabochon represents the bird's eye, and the underside of the piece reveals a smooth gold base. A gold loop for hanging at the top completes the design. A beautiful and delicate design, this wonderful piece could be worn as a small pendant on a chain, or hung from a favorite charm bracelet. It would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The bird charm measures 3/4" long (including the ring for hanging), and measures 3/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver-topped gold setting or to any of the diamond stones, all of which are intact. The ring for hanging is secure and in good condition. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting, which is normal for an antique piece and adds depth to the design.
