Victorian Sterling & Rose Gold Hinged Coin Bracelet
A very unusual coin-inspired bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stylish piece is quite substantial in size and impressive in appearance. Crafted in sterling silver, it features a row of four decorative coin replicas that line the front surface. Each coin is bezel set above an intricate filigree framework, complete with shapely scrolls and cutouts that form a lacy texture. On the reverse side of the bangle is a paneled gate motif, completing the artistic design. A rose gold overlay is applied to several areas of the piece, adding a wonderful mixed metals appeal. The bracelet is hinged at the side, fastening with a secure hidden push clasp. A beautiful and unusual piece, this bracelet would make a wonderful addition to any antique collection!
Measurements: The surface of the bracelet measures approximately 5/8" wide. The inside opening, where your wrist would rest, measures 2 1/4" wide and 2" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or hinged push clasp, which is secure and in good working condition. There is some light fading to the original rose gold overlay, which is normal for a piece of this age. A natural untouched patina remains on the surface of the setting, adding further depth to the 3-dimensional details within the design.
