Vintage Mexican Sterling & Onyx Spiked Link Necklace
This vintage Mexican necklace makes quite a fantastic statement piece! Crafted in sterling silver, the necklace is quite substantial in size and dramatic in design. Hanging at the center is a row spiked links, alternating with smooth sterling beads. The spikes graduate in size, with the longest links at the center, forming a festoon style. Each spike is inlaid with onyx stones, which have a bold, black color that contrasts perfectly with the silver setting. The sterling beads are strung on wire, meeting at a sterling push clasp in the back. Stamped on the clasp is "N-18 MEXICO STERLING 925." An impressive piece, this stylish necklace is perfect for the fashion-forward woman's collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 17.5" long. The longest spike hangs 3 1/4" at the center, and the smallest spike measures 1 1/8" long. All of the spikes are 3/16" thick. The sterling beads measures 7mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling spikes or beads, which are securely strung. All of the onyx stones are intact and free of chips or scratches. The push clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver, which is a normal characteristic of vintage jewelry. However it can be polished if a brighter appearance is desired.
