Art Deco 14kt Carnelian Onyx & Pearl Earrings
A beautiful and unusual pair of earrings from the Art Deco (ca1930) era! Each of these dangling earrings features an ensemble of natural elements, including carnelian, onyx, and natural pearls. A large carved carnelian ring hangs from the base, exhibiting a wonderful natural color with a rich translucent shade of burnt orange. A doubled strand of delicate natural seed pearls grasps the carnelian ring at the base. Each elongated surmount is comprised of multiple strands of seed pearls. A larger center pearl and two black onyx beads are interspersed throughout the design. At the top is a polished carnelian cabochon, which is attached to a simple 14kt gold earring wire. The striking colors are gorgeous in person, and add further beauty to the design. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully, and dangle with lovely movement!
Measurements: The earrings hang 2 3/8" in total length. The carnelian rings at the base have a 7/8" outer diameter. The carnelian cabochons measure 8mm each. The black onyx beads and central pearls measure 4mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the carnelian links or to the onyx beads and pearls, which are securely set and free of any apparent chips or surface scratches. The gold earring wires are intact and secure.
