Art Deco 14kt Heart-Shaped Carved Rock Crystal Diamond Pendant Necklace
A stunning and unusual rock quartz crystal necklace from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! Set in 14kt white gold, this beautiful piece is comprised of a large rock quartz crystal plaque with a single diamond set in the center. The crystal itself is heart-shaped, an unusual detail for pieces from the Deco era that carry a similar design. The diamond rests within a curved box setting that is riveted into the center of the plaque, and the crystal has a carved design on the back, which shows through to the front as a beautiful starburst. The ornate framework is beautifully detailed with very fine filigree wirework, and a flowing motif that resembles tied bows, flowers and leaves curling around the edges of the border. The craftsmanship is spectacular and compliments the romantic pendant perfectly. Completing the design is an etched bail, which is marked "14K" on the back. The pendant hangs from a delicate 14kt white gold chain that fastens with a spring ring clasp in the back that is also stamped "14K." It looks beautiful when worn and would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain measures 16" in total length. The pendant hangs 1 1/2" in total length (including the bail at the top), measures 7/8" wide, and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the white gold setting or filigree wirework. The rock quartz crystal and diamond are intact and securely set. The chain and spring clasp fastens securely and are in good working condition.
