Art Deco Chinese Silver Filigree Flower Basket Earrings
A charming pair of earrings from the Art Deco (ca1930) era! Chinese in origin, these handmade earrings are made of silver and have an ornate flower basket design. The baskets feature a filigree base that a creates a woven appearance. A coiled strand of wire forms the handle, and multiple flowers and leaves fill the basket, peaking around the sides. Dangling from the base are five filigree ball accents that hang from fine strands of chain. Each earring hangs from a two strands of wire that meet at a decorative wire surmount at the top. A fun and unusual design, the earrings are fairly lightweight despite their substantial size, and have lovely movement when worn. They have a unique artistic flair and would make a special pair of statement earrings for any vintage jewelry lover!
Measurements: The earrings hang 3 1/4" long, including the wire surmounts and dangling elements. The flower baskets themselves measure about 1 1/4" tall and wide.
Condition: Overall, the earrings are in excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver and the earring wires are in good working condition.
