Art Deco English Sterling Rose Gold & Blue Enamel Medallion
A wonderful English medallion pendant from the late Art Deco (ca1935-1936) era! This lovely medal is crafted in sterling silver topped with rose gold. The round medallion has raised shield-shaped center, which rests above a bright blue enameled background. A rose gold border surrounds the shield, decorated with flowing etched details. The back of the piece is stamped with multiple English hallmarks, including "THOMAS FATTORINI LIMITED BIRMINGHAM" and the initials "TF" beside the small Birminham symbols of an anchor and a lion, and the date letter "L" (dating the piece to between 1935-1936). A wonderful piece, it would make a stylish addition to any collection!
Measurements: The medallion hangs 1 1/4" long (including the ring at the top) and has a 1" diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling and rose gold setting or to the enameled background. The ring bail at the top is securely attached. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting, which is normal for the era and adds to its unique appearance and character.
