Art Deco French Sterling Smooth Signet Ring
A signet ring can be represented by a smooth or engraved seal, or with an intaglio, which is created by carving into the surface of a stone. Its purpose would have been to seal the wax of a letter or note.
A wonderful sterling silver signet ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This fabulous French piece is very attractive, with a smooth, wide seal in the center that could be left plain or engraved with a set of if desired. The shoulders of the ring boast a stacked geometric design, which is subtle but lends a true Art Deco appeal to the piece. The simple design is both versatile and fashionable, and would compliment any fashion sense! The exterior of the band is stamped with two small French hallmarks at the back. Perfect for everyday wear, this wonderful unisex ring could be worn by either a man or woman, and would make a wonderful everyday addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 9, but it could be resized. The smooth seal in the center measures approximately 1/2" wide and 3/8" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting.
