Art Deco Long Sterling Amethyst Filigree Earrings
A beautiful pair of amethyst earrings from the Art Deco (ca1930s) era! These lovely earrings are crafted in sterling silver an elongated drop design. Each earring dangles a gorgeous filigree link at the base, which is set with a teardrop amethyst stone at the center. The amethyst displays a stunning natural purple color and is beautifully faceted, catching the light perfectly. Surrounding the stone is a fine filigree wirework setting, complete with delicate beadwork accents and lacy cutouts. At the top is a floral surmount with an earring post attached to the back. When worn, the earrings hang long and frame the face beautifully, dangling with lovely movement. They would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang 2 3/4" in total length, measure 3/4" across at the widest point, and are 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or filigree and beadwork details. Both amethyst stones are intact, securely set, and free of chips or scratches. The earring tops and posts are secure. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver, which is a normal characteristic of antique jewelry.
