Art Deco Spun Silver Cannetille Filigree & Coral Chandelier Earrings
A wonderful pair of coral chandelier earrings from the Art Deco (c.1930) era! Each handmade earring has an intricate cannetille wirework design known as "spun silver." The chandelier motif incorporates natural coral beads that have a rich, undyed color. Three coral links dangle freely from the base, swinging with lovely movement when worn. At the top is a surmount with a carved coral topper resembling a rose. A simple post rests on the back, though the earrings could be converted to wire toppers if desired. A wonderful and decorative pair of earrings, they frame the face beautifully and make a lovely statement piece!
Measurements: The earrings hang 2 7/8" long from the top of the surmount to the coral links at the base. Each earring measures 1/2" at the widest point and about 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is very good. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver cannetille setting or coral beads, all of which are intact. Some of the coral accents show subtle natural inclusions, which is normal for genuine coral. There is a light patina on the surface of the silver, which is also normal for vintage jewelry.
