Art Deco Black Enamel & Rose Motif Watch Fob Necklace
A fantastic watch fob necklace from the Art Deco era (ca1920)! This wonderful sterling and gold necklace is comprised of a ball-shaped watch fob that hangs from a complimentary chain. The watch fob is made of sterling silver and has a rich black enamel surface, which is decorated with feminine pink roses and delicate green leaves. At the base of the fob is a small round watch face (signed "BUCHERER"), while the winder rests along the silver seam at the middle. The fob hangs from a long extension at the center of the chain, which consists of black and white enameled bar links alternating with strands of 14kt white gold chain. The extension meets at a trefoil link at the center, and there are two spring ring clasps within the necklace: one at the back, and one at the end of the extension. The clasp of the chain is stamped "14K". is stamped A wonderful Art Deco piece, it merges perfectly into modern day fashion and would make a stylish everyday accessory!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 24" long, and the extension hangs 4 1/2" long in the center (not including the fob). The watch fob itself measures 7/8" tall and 3/4" wide and thick. The watch face has a 3/8" diameter.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting or to the enamel. The watch is intact, and the spring ring clasps are secure and in good working condition.
