Art Deco Sterling Moonstone & Marcasite Filigree Pendant
A lovely filigree pendant from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This beautiful pendant is made of sterling silver and has an intricate design. Originally an antique pin, the rectangular plaque now hangs from a handmade bail, making this a wonderful conversion piece. Covered in fine filigree wirework, the pendant is detailed with soft milgrain accents and shapely cutouts. An elongated pale blue moonstone is bezel set at the center, which is very clear with iridescent flashes. The filigree design is encrusted with delicate marcasites, which add a wonderful sparkle! An elegant and feminine pendant, it could be worn everyday or saved for special occasions!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 2 1/8" long, including the bail. The rectangular pendant itself measures 1 3/4" tall and 5/8" wide.
Condition: The pendant is in very good antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the filigree detail, and the bail is secure and intact. The moonstone is securely set and free of chips or scratches. Two of the small marcasite stones have been replaced, restoring the original design. There is a very slight bend in the rectangular setting, which is only visible from the side and not noticeable when worn.
