Art Deco Sterling & Red Glass Perfume Bottle with Box
This beautiful perfume bottle is from the Art Deco (ca1920) era and comes in the original box! The perfume bottle has an elongated shape and is made of faceted glass, which has a rich, deep cherry red color. At either end of the bottle is a sterling silver lid, which displays a beautifully engraved surface with scrolled, etched detail. One of the lids is removable, unscrewing to reveal an opening large enough to pour a desired perfume scent inside. The opposite end has a hinged lid, which snaps open with a small button push clasp. When opened, it reveals a smaller opening from which the liquid perfume would be dispensed. The perfume bottle resides in its original red box lined with a satiny purple interior. A lovely old-world collectible, it would make a special keepsake piece for any collector!
Measurements: The bottle measures 5" long (including both sterling caps) and 1 1/4" thick. The box measures 6 1/4" long, 2 1/4" wide, and stands 1 1/2" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the boxed perfume bottle is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the red glass bottle or sterling lids, both of which are secure and in good working order. The box shows visible surface wear that are normal for an antique piece, but is still in good condition with a secure clasp and hinge.
