Art Deco Sterling Rock Crystal "Pools of Light" Necklace
A beautiful and unique rock quartz crystal necklace from the late Art Deco (ca1930s) era! This lovely piece consists of a design of smooth rock quartz crystal spheres, traditionally known as "Pools of Light" which alternate with smaller rock crystal beads. The Pools of Light beads graduate slightly in size, with the largest resting in the center and surrounding each crystal orb is a thin silver wire that wraps around the diameter. Simple sterling rings connect each large orb to a simple rock crystal bead which have a sterling bar riveted through the center of each. A thick braided sterling chain completes the alternating beaded design, coming together at a silver spring clasp stamped "STERLING" at the back. Pools of Light have an alluring appearance when worn, catching and dispersing the light in a unique way and this particular design is unusual for a Pools of Light necklace. The piece would compliment any sense of style and is a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The entire length of the necklace measures approximately 17.25" long. The "Pools of Light" crystals measure approximately 16mm, 13mm and 12mm in diameter and the smaller rock quartz crystal beads measure 7mm.
Condition: The overall condition of this necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to any of the rock quartz crystal spheres or beads, all of which are intact. The silver setting and chain is in good condition and the clasp is secure and in good working order.
