Art Nouveau 14kt Carved Moonstone + Diamond "Man in the Moon" Ring
A stunning and unusual "Man in the Moon" ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1900s) era! Crafted in 14 yellow gold, this celestial piece features a carved moonstone at the center of a sparkling diamond border. The hand-carved details bring the recognizable "Man in the Moon" motif to life, including 3-dimensional facial features, and a whimsical smiling expression. The alluring moonstone displays iridescent flashes of blue that catch the light beautifully within the open back setting. A border old Rose Cut diamonds encircles the prong set moonstone, sparkling brilliantly beside the cheerful, translucent face. A delicate scalloped wirework design embellishes the base of the centerpiece and completing the design are fluted shoulders that extend into a smoothly polished band. This incredible ring is a show stopper and makes a fabulous statement when worn!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6 but could be re-sized if desired. The moonstone and diamond centerpiece measures approximately 5/8" in diameter and rests about 1/4" above the finger when worn. The graduated band measures 2mm wide in the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The moonstone and diamonds are all intact and securely set.
