Art Nouveau 14kt Enameled Opal Filigree Ring
A gorgeous opal ring from the Art Nouveau (ca1910) era! This artistic design features an alluring opal cabochon that rests at the center of a 14kt gold mounting. Surrounding the opal is a beautiful filigree border, complete with etched details and shapely cutouts. Decorating the border is a green enamel motif, a wonderful compliment to the center stone. The opal itself is simply mesmerizing, displaying a wonderful range of vibrant iridescent colors that seem to glow and shimmer in the light. Included in the color play are shades of green, blue, violet, and orange. Completing the design is a smooth pillar-style band, which is stamped "14K" inside the shank, and engraved with an inscription that reads "LEGION POPPY GIRL '45.'" The ring makes an impressive statement piece and is perfect for any opal lover's collection!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 6.5, but could be re-sized. The opal and enamel centerpiece measures approximately 3/4" tall, 5/8" wide and rests 3/8" high. The gold band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the opal center, which is intact and securely set.
