Art Nouveau 14kt Iridescent Enamel & Diamond Snake Pin
A gorgeous snake pin from the Art Nouveau (ca1895) era! This wonderful piece is made of 14kt yellow gold and has a beautiful iridescent enamel surface. The piece represents a detailed snake, whose body coils and loops to form a pretzel-like shape, with the snake's head emerging at the center. The snake's scales are individually textured, showing through beneath the colorful enamel in vibrant gold, green, and light pink hues. Set in the center of the snake's head is a single sparkling diamond, resting above two delicate red enamel eyes. The underside of the piece reveals a gold pin clasp, allowing it to be fastened easily to a favorite garment. A lovely and very artistic piece, it's perfect for any snake lover and would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
Measurements: The piece measures 3/4" wide, 7/8" tall, and approximately 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or enamel detail. The diamond is intact and the bar pin is secure and in good working condition.
