$2,995 $5,995

Guilloché, in English usually Guillloché, is an engraving technique in which a very precise, intricate pattern is mechanically etched into an underlying material with very fine detail. Most commonly, the Guilloche surface was then enameled and the repetitive, intricate design would show through the colorful enamel.

An absolutely magnificent Late Victorian (ca1900) locket with wonderful detail! This fabulous piece is comprised of a stunning locket pendant which is made of vibrant 14kt yellow gold and has a gorgeous burgundy red enamel surface with a very intricate and detailed design etched beneath it. The locket is particularly large in size and oval in shape and has a bold 8-point starburst riveted into the front. Lining the surface of the starburst are 9 lustrous pearls and 18 old Rose Cut diamonds. Below the enameling is a Guilloché etched design which rays out from beneath the starburst and the entire locket is surrounded by a smooth gold frame. On the back of the piece is a glass covered locket face and a simple gold bail is attached at the top.

Measurements: The locket pendant hangs approximately 2 5/8" long, is 2" wide and is 1/2" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the enameled surface of the locket and all of the diamonds and pearls are intact. There is some very minor wear to the hollow gold frame, however, this is not noticeable when the piece is worn.
