BIRKS Art Nouveau 14kt Turquoise Matrix Ring
This gorgeous turquoise ring from the Art Nouveau era (ca1900) era is a signed piece by Maison Birks! Crafted in 14kt gold, the ring displays a beautiful turquoise stone that is bezel set at the center of a decorative floral setting. The elongated turquoise stone is substantial in size and exhibits a vibrant natural color. There are naturally occurring veins of deep blue and sea green inclusions throughout (known as "matrix"), giving the stone a striking marbled appearance. Decorating each shoulder is a sculpted floral motif with flowing leaves and ribbon. Delicate white gold and rose gold accents give a subtle mixed metals appeal to the center of the flower and the flourish at the stem. A smooth gold band completes the design, stamped with the authentic "BIRKS" signature hallmark inside.A magnificent statement piece, this beautiful ring by a prominent maker would add pop of color to any ensemble, and is perfect for the turquoise lover!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.5, but could be easily re-sized up or down if desired. The turquoise centerpiece measures 7/8" tall, 5/8" wide, and rests about 3/8" high.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or turquoise cabochon, which is intact. There is a natural patina on the gold surface that gives it an antiqued appearance, which is normal for jewelry from the Victorian era and adds to its character.
