Early Victorian Rare 18kt Ruby Diamond & Enamel Checkerboard Ring
A very unusual ring from the Early Victorian (ca1850s) era! This unique ring is crafted in vibrant 18kt gold, displaying a striking checkerboard motif at the center. The sparkling Mine cut diamonds and luscious rubies line the grid, resting in a shared micro prong setting. The original black tracery enamel motif decorate the shoulders of the ring, surrounding the accent diamonds at the sides. The rich black enamel provides quite a striking effect, adding further depth and contrast to the overall design. Measurements: The ring has a finger size 5.75. Due to the unique nature of the design, significant resizing is not advised. The centerpiece measures 10mm wide, and the tapered band measures 2mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold setting, besides slight fading of the original engraved accents due to age. All of the diamonds are rubies are intact. The enamel shows some minor signs of wear, but remains in excellent antique condition.
