Edwardian 14kt/Platinum Sapphire & Diamond Ring 2.00ct
An absolutely breathtaking sapphire and diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Made of platinum-topped 14kt yellow gold, this stunning ring features an exquisite 2.00ct unheated sapphire in the center, which has a vivid, deep blue color. Surrounding the sapphire is a border of 10 old Mine cut diamonds that form a sparkling halo. The diamonds, which are prong set in platinum, have a total approximate carat weight of 1.20 ctw, with H-I range color and have VS1-VS2 range clarity. The contrast between the intense blue sapphire stone and sparkling diamond border is simply spectacular! The yellow gold band is smooth on all sides and tapers in as it reaches the back. A truly magnificent piece, it would make a special addition to any jewelry collection, or an exquisite engagement ring!
Measurements: The face of the ring measures approximately 1/2” wide and tall, and rests 1/4" above the finger when worn. The ring has a finger size of 4.5, but could be easily resized up or down if desired.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum-topped gold setting, or to the sapphire and diamond stones, all of which are intact. There is a partial engraving visible inside the shank, which is no longer legible due to regular wear.
