Edwardian French 18kt Sapphire Diamond Ring 1.30ct Center
An absolutely breathtaking sapphire and diamond ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! Made of 18kt yellow and white gold, this stunning ring features an exquisite 1.30ct sapphire in the center, which has a vivid, deep purplish blue color. Surrounding the sapphire is a border of 12 old Mine cut diamonds that form a sparkling halo. The diamonds, which are prong set in 18kt white gold, have a total approximate carat weight of 1.20ctw, with J-K range color and have SI range clarity. The contrast between the intense blue sapphire stone and sparkling diamond border is simply spectacular! The yellow gold band has a ridged design on all sides and tapers in as it reaches the back. The outside of the band is stamped with two French hallmarks including an eagles head (indicating the use of 18kt gold and its French origin). A truly magnificent piece, it would make a special addition to any jewelry collection, or an exquisite engagement ring!
Measurements: The face of the ring measures approximately 1/2” wide, slightly less than 5/8" tall, and rests 1/4" above the finger when worn. The ring has a finger size of 7.25, but could be easily resized up or down if desired.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the mixed metals gold setting, or to the sapphire and diamond stones, all of which are intact.
