Edwardian Large Platinum & Diamond Filigree Pendant 2ctw
This diamond pendant from the Edwardian era (ca1910) is simply spectacular! The platinum pendant is quite substantial in size and has an incredibly detailed design. The circular piece is covered in fine filigree wirework, including elongated branches at the center, and a honeycomb pattern along the edges. A floral cluster of 9 old Mine Cut diamonds forms the center, each stone resting individually in a milgrained bezel setting. An additional ensemble of old Mine Cut and Rose Cut diamonds are scattered throughout the remainder of the design, giving the lacy design a wonderful sparkling appearance! Soft milgrain accents line the wirework edges, adding softness to the appearance. The pendant hangs from a complimentary diamond bail at the top, perfect for pairing with a special chain. Accompanying the pendant is the original custom box, which is stamped "ASPREY 166. BOND ST. LONDON." inside the lid. An extraordinary Edwardian beauty, this gorgeous pendant would look magnificent worn on special occasions!
Measurement: The piece hangs 2 1/4" long, including the diamond bail. The pendant has a 1 7/8" diameter and measures 1/4" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting and filigree wirework. The bail is secure and in good condition. A small diamond accent near the base has been replaced, restoring the piece to its original intact condition. The box shows normal signs of surface wear commensurate with age, but remains in good condition, with the lid's button clasp fastening securely.
