Edwardian Platinum/14kt Diamond Lavalier Pendant Necklace 3.56ctw
A spectacular diamond pendant necklace from the Edwardian (ca1910s) era! This exquisite piece is comprised of 31 old European Cut diamonds set in platinum-topped 14kt yellow gold hanging from a modern 18kt white gold chain. The lavalier-style pendant displays a foliate motif with four bezel set and 14 bead set diamonds adorning its leaves, collectively weighing approximately 0.50ctw. Ten graduated diamonds comprise the bottom of the pendant at a total of 1.06ctw while three larger diamonds decorate the center of the design, 0.60ct at both the pendant's top and center, and a final sparkling 0.80ct diamond that dangles freely from the bottom. With a total of approximately 3.56ctw, all of the glittering diamonds exhibit H-J range color and VS range clarity. A modern 18kt white gold chain attaches to either side of the diamond pendant centerpiece and the necklace fastens at a simple lobster clasp in the back marked "750". A real beauty, the necklace has a very regal appearance and looks simply breathtaking when worn. It would make an outstanding addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures about 18" in total length. The diamond pendant measures approximately 1" tall and 1 3/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum-topped gold setting or white gold chain, and all of the diamonds are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
