Edwardian Platinum 18kt Sapphire & Diamond Ring 1.20ct
This sapphire and diamond ring from the Edwardian era (ca1910) is simply breathtaking! The ring is made of 18kt yellow gold and has a platinum-topped setting. Resting at the center is a 1.20ct oval sapphire, which is prong set and surrounded by a border of sparkling diamonds. There are 10 old Mine Cut diamonds that comprise the halo, and an additional two diamonds at each shoulder, all set within platinum. The approximate total carat weight of all 12 diamonds combined is 1.00ctw. The contrast between the bright yellow gold and platinum is lovely and gives the ring an elegant two-tone appearance. The yellow gold band is left smooth and tapers in slightly as it nears the back. An exquisite turn-of-the-century piece, it looks positively enchanting when worn and could make a gorgeous gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 7 but could be easily re-sized up or down if desired.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum-topped gold setting, and the sapphire and diamond stones are all intact.
