Edwardian Platinum Moonstone & Diamond Locket Necklace .75ctw
A gorgeous moonstone locket necklace from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This stunning piece is made of platinum and is comprised of a moonstone and diamond locket that hangs from a modern platinum chain. The moonstone is rather large and has a lovely, clear blue color with iridescent flashes. Four prongs hold the cabochon within an open backed setting, which allows the light to pass through, accentuating its color and flash. A sparkling diamond halo surrounds the moonstone, formed by 24 Mine Cut diamonds weighing approximately .75ctw combined. On the back of the pendant is an open glass window, perfect for framing a special photograph or storing a small object inside if desired. An engraved scrolled motif travels along the platinum setting where the hinge and seam are located. The pendant hangs from a simple platinum bail and chain, clasping with a spring ring in the back. A very feminine piece, it would look beautiful worn everyday or on special occasions!
Measurements: The pendant hangs 1 1/4" long (including the bail), has a 3/4" diameter, and is 1/2" thick. The chain measures approximately 16" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting, moonstone, or diamonds, all of which are intact. The bail is secure, as is the chain and spring ring clasp.
