Edwardian Sterling Moonstone & Peridot Ring
A beautiful and artistic moonstone ring from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! The ring is handmade from sterling silver and has a simple, yet feminine design. A large moonstone rests at the center, which is bezel set and polished into a smooth cabochon shape. The moonstone has a wonderful translucence and an iridescent flash that catches in the light. Surrounding the moonstone is a halo of bright green peridots, which are individually bezel set amidst a swirled wirework border. The scalloped wirework is representative of petals, giving the overall piece a flower-like appearance. Completing the design is a smooth and simple sterling band. The moonstone and peridot combination is quite unusual, and looks beautiful in person!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 5, but could easily be resized up or down as desired. The moonstone and peridot centerpiece measures 3/4" tall, 5/8" wide, and rests about 3/8" above the finger when worn.
Condition: The ring is in very good antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or to the moonstone and peridots, which are intact and securely set. There is a natural patina on the surface of the setting that gives a darkened antique appearance to the silver. This is normal for antique jewelry and adds to its unique character.
