Estate 18kt & Silver Ancient Roman Style Coin Pin/Pendant
Inspired by Roman history, an emerging trend in contemporary fashion is to incorporate Ancient Roman coin replicas into current designs, creating wearable modern pieces of jewelry. This stylish Estate piece is comprised of a large silver coin set within a decorative 18kt yellow gold bezel frame. The silver coin is styled with an air of antiquity, made to represent a piece of currency used in the ancient Roman Republic (221 BC to 170 BC). One side of the coin bears the image of a man's face shown in profile, complete with sculpted facial features and swirled strands of hair. The opposed side of the coin shows a standing figure, who is dressed in soldier's robes and helmet and holds a spear. A garland of leaves and Greek letters surround the soldier, completing the design. The silver coin is held within a thick rose gold bezel, which is studded with 8 rosy yellow gold balls to form a decorative border. On the back of the piece is a yellow gold bar hook bezel and bar pin clasp, allowing the coin to be worn two ways. It would look fabulous pinned to a favorite garment or hung from a gold chain. This wonderful piece has a very fashionable look and would make an excellent addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The coin pin/pendant has a 1 1/2" diameter and is approximately 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold bezel or silver coin. The bail and pin clasp are both secure and in good working condition.
