My An exquisite Vintage (ca1960s) sapphire and diamond ring! Crafted of 18k and platinum, this stunning piece holds a gorgeous natural sapphire at the center, framed by sparkling and unique shield-cut diamonds at either shoulder. The Ceylon (Sri Lankan) sapphire has an exact weight of 5.68 carats and is beautifully faceted into a modified Brilliant Cushion Cut, held in the center by a prong setting. It exhibits a luscious cornflower blue color with hints of purple and is natural with no indications of heat treatment. Flanking the vibrant center stone are two shield-shaped step cut diamonds which have a total combined weight of 1.50ctw, exhibiting F/G range color range and VS range clarity. The design is complete with an open gallery underneath the three stones, allowing light to flood every facet. Accompanying the ring is a Sapphire Origin Report (#1315102089) issued in November 2018 by GIA (Gemological Institute of America), which describes and confirms the sapphire's stated characteristics. A spectacular three stone ring, it would look exquisite worn on special occasions, or could make an extraordinary gemstone engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6.5, but could easily be resized. The sapphire rests approximately 8mm above the finger when worn. The dimensions of the sapphire are as follows: 10.64 x 8.62 x 5.58 mm. The band measures 1mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and platinum setting. The sapphire stone and both diamonds are intact and securely set.
