Georgian 15kt Gold Handmade Open Bead Necklace 50"
This beautiful and rare gold necklace is from the Georgian era (ca1750) and makes a wonderful statement! The lovely design is comprised of handmade open bead links, which are crafted in vibrant 15kt yellow gold (indicating English origin). Each intricate ball link has a textured surface with a subtle flower motif. A cage-like wirework design connects each open bead together, forming a extra long, fashionable necklace. Although the piece is long and has a very substantial look, the open bead links are hollow, giving the piece a very lightweight feel that is comfortable to wear. The necklace opens and fastens shut with a secure push clasp that is disguised within an elongated, complimentary link. The piece is long enough to slip easily on overhead without a clasp, but it could also be doubled for a layered look. The wonderful design is very versatile and would compliment any ensemble. A classically beautiful Georgian piece, it is a rare and high-quality find that would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The overall length of the necklace measures 50" long. Each open bead link measures approximately 1/4" wide and thick.
Condition: Georgian jewelry is very rare, and this well-preserved necklace is in excellent condition! Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold links. The push clasp is intact, fastens securely, and is in good working condition.
