LARTER & SONS Late Victorian 14kt Gemstone Double Snake Ring
The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection.
This marvelous double snake ring is a signed piece by Larter & Sons from the Late Victorian (ca1900) era! Made of 18kt yellow gold, the design features two slithering snakes, whose bodies are artfully intertwined, their heads and tails meeting at the center. Their bodies form the band of the ring, further adding to the visual beauty of the design, and engraved detail on the surface provides scale-like texture. Both snakes are adorned with beautiful natural gemstones, including diamond and ruby eyes. One of the snakes has a sparkling diamond set in its head, while the other has a blue sapphire stone. The snakes' bodies also act as the ring's band, adding to the visual beauty and detail of the design. Stamped inside the shank is "14" beside the authentic Larter & Sons signature hallmark. This fabulous ring is perfect for any snake lover and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a large finger size of 8.5 but could be re-sized slightly if desired.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the diamond, sapphire and ruby gemstones, all of which are intact and securely set.
