Late Art Deco Platinum Diamond + Ruby Hummingbird Charm
A wonderful hummingbird charm from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! This lovely piece is crafted in platinum and depicts a gorgeous open-winged hummingbird that is encrusted with sparkling Rose Cut diamonds. The pavé-set stones adorn the entire surface and a gorgeous ruby dots the eye, adding a lovely pop of color. Wonderful realistic details include a long, narrow beak and two textured feet that trail at the back, providing a slight 3-dimensional appeal to the design. Attached to the top is a simple round bail, perfect for hanging from a special charm bracelet or necklace. A gorgeous every day piece, this charm pendant would make a perfect addition to any bird enthusiast's collection!
Measurements: The charm hangs approximately 1/2" long (including the bail at the top), measures about 5/8" wide, and is 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the charm is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting. The ruby and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set and the bail is secure and in good working order.
